Nigerian Navy Arrests Fake Officer and Armed Robber

The Nigerian Navy conducted security operations at a checkpoint in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State, resulting in the arrest of two suspects over the weekend. Commander Kabir Yusuf identified the suspects as 37-year-old Brooms Anthony from Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, and 36-year-old Christian Ogbole from Onoh Village, Eziagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
Anthony was intercepted at approximately 2 am while traveling from Lagos to Enugu in a Nissan Atlas truck, which was carrying household items. He presented an identity card claiming to be a naval officer but failed to provide satisfactory evidence, leading to his arrest for impersonation.
In a separate operation, Ogbole was arrested after being pursued and intercepted in a Suzuki minibus allegedly transporting stolen property, following a complaint from a trader about a recent burglary. Recovered items included solar batteries, a rechargeable solar fan, and other valuables, which were returned to the trader.
The operations reflect the Navy's commitment to combat crime in Anambra State.
