Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect in Anambra State

Chima Ogumba, a 49-year-old suspect of armed robbery, was arrested by the police in Anambra State on Monday morning. The arrest occurred during a raid conducted by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu at Ogumba's residence located on Nkpor Road in the Idemili North local government area.

Police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga, a superintendent of police, reported that the operatives recovered one pump-action gun and 50 live cartridges during the search. Ogumba was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his possession of the firearm and ammunition.

Following the arrest, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Nnanna Ama, directed a thorough investigation to ascertain Ogumba's potential involvement in other criminal activities and to determine the source and intended use of the recovered firearm and ammunition.
