Nigerian Navy Transfers Three Ghanaian Stowaways to Immigration

On March 28, 2026, the Nigerian Navy, under the command of Commodore Adam Aliu, handed over three Ghanaian stowaways—Armah Peter (26), Amisah Daniel (22), and Amoh Michael (25)—to the Nigeria Immigration Service in Lagos. The stowaways were discovered concealed in the rudder compartment of the merchant vessel MT Anatolia, which was docked at Dangote Terminal.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal migration and strengthen maritime security. Preliminary investigations revealed that the stowaways intended to travel illegally from Ghana to Europe, specifically aiming for countries like Britain, Canada, and Spain.

They had embarked on this risky journey to seek better economic opportunities and to assist with medical bills for a sick family member. The Navy emphasized the dangers of stowaway attempts and called on community leaders to caution youth against engaging in illegal migration.

The suspects were transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service for further action and judicial processing.
