NBA Condemns Sowore's Disruptive Court Conduct in Abuja

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the conduct of Omoyele Sowore during court proceedings at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja. NBA President Yakubu Maikyau characterized Sowore's behavior as inappropriate and disrespectful, undermining the dignity of the judiciary.

He noted that while every citizen has the right to express grievances, such actions must be carried out within the confines of the law and with due regard for judicial institutions. Maikyau further stressed that the NBA does not condone behavior capable of disrupting court proceedings and urged legal practitioners and the public to uphold courtroom decorum.

He highlighted the critical importance of respecting the rule of law as a cornerstone of democracy in the country.
