NBA Condemns Sowore's Disruption in Courtroom Conduct

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) condemned the actions of former presidential candidate and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore during a session at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday. Sowore attempted to address journalists inside the courtroom, which led to a clash with senior advocates, including Musibau Adetunbi, who insisted that the courtroom is not an appropriate venue for press briefings.

A video circulated online showing the confrontation, where Sowore retorted against the senior advocate's warnings. The NBA, in a statement signed by its president Afam Osigwe, emphasized that the courtroom should promote transparency and respect for judicial authority.

The association expressed grave concern over Sowore's conduct, stating it undermines the dignity of the court and disrupts proceedings. The NBA urged that the courtroom remain a protected space for orderly administration of justice and condemned any actions that could intimidate legal practitioners.
