Nigeria Basketball Federation Names 3×3 Squad for Glasgow 2026

The Nigeria Basketball Federation has unveiled the men's 3×3 basketball squad that will represent Nigeria at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The team includes Esosa Kelvin Okundaye, who wears jersey number nine and hails from Benin; Marcel Esonwune, who wears number 12 and is based in New York, United States; and Robert Chima Ukawuba, who wears number four and is from Lagos.

Federation officials expect Okundaye to contribute agility and an explosive style of play, which are crucial in the fast-paced three-a-side format. Esonwune, representing the Nigerian diaspora, brings valuable international experience and veteran leadership developed in the United States.

The selection reflects a strategic blend of homegrown talent and diaspora experience, aiming to enhance Nigeria's performance in the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
