NCAA Takes Action Against Airlines Over Flight Disruptions

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) held a meeting with 13 domestic airlines to address flight disruptions caused by various issues, including unruly passenger behavior and operational challenges. The Director of Public Relations and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the meeting aimed to improve passenger welfare and enforce regulations.

The NCAA plans to name and shame airlines that consistently delay or cancel flights without prioritizing passenger care. This move follows recent incidents of unruly passenger behavior and frequent flight delays in the aviation industry.

The meeting in Abuja will focus on enhancing passenger handling protocols, introducing RFID bag tags for flight monitoring, and ensuring better enforcement of safety measures for cabin crew and passengers.
