NCAA reveals why Ibom Air assault case not same as KWAM 1 incident

The NCAA clarified that the case involving Comfort Emmanson, a passenger accused of assaulting an Ibom Air crew member, is different from the incident involving Fuji musician KWAM 1. The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mike Achimugu, stated that the airline acted independently based on evidence and had the right to prosecute and ban Emmanson.

He emphasized that the airline staff are also human beings who deserve respect. The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) were within their rights to ban and blacklist passengers in such cases.

The NCAA noted that Ibom Air promptly charged Emmanson, while in the KWAM 1 case, the airline had the right to pursue prosecution or resolve the dispute amicably. The incident highlighted the importance of cabin crew members' responsibility for passenger safety and security.
