NCAA Summons Air Peace Over Flight Disruptions and Complaints

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) summoned Air Peace following complaints regarding unexplained disruptions and delayed refunds. The issues arose from a flight originally scheduled from Heathrow to Abuja, which was rerouted to Gatwick due to a cracked windshield, suspected to be caused by a bird strike.

NCAA's Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, emphasized that no passengers were abandoned during the incident, countering claims circulating on social media. Air Peace confirmed that all passengers were safely disembarked at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and provided options for further travel, including accommodations and free flights to Gatwick.

Achimugu reiterated the NCAA's commitment to protecting passenger rights and maintaining strict operational standards. The NCAA will conduct an investigation into the disruptions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards as part of their oversight responsibilities.
