NCAT Upgrades Facilities, Secures Global Accreditation

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria has undertaken significant upgrades to its facilities and secured global accreditation for its programs. Dr.

Danjuma Adamu Ismaila, the rector, stated that these improvements were necessary despite ongoing funding challenges. The college aims to restore its infrastructure to meet international standards and offers comprehensive aviation training across 200 courses, including pilot training and air traffic control.

NCAT has rehabilitated student hostels and classrooms to align with global standards and has retained its platinum membership with the Centre of Excellence. The college has also obtained membership with the National Council for Management Development (NCMD) to offer recognized management programs.

Furthermore, NCAT is working towards obtaining certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which would allow its graduates to receive international licenses. The college currently admits 25 pilot trainees every six months, facing a high demand for training capacity in Nigeria.
