NCAT Alumni President Advocates for Increased Funding

Ambassador Ali Magashi, the President of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria (NCAT) Alumni Association, presented a memorandum to the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation during a public hearing in Abuja on Monday. He advocated for increased funding for NCAT, which is recognized as the oldest and foremost aviation training facility in Nigeria and West/Central Africa.

Magashi highlighted the rising demand for air travel and the corresponding shortage of aviation professionals, urging for expanded training capacity to produce more qualified personnel. He also raised concerns about the high costs of aviation training, calling for an increase in scholarship funds and an enabling environment for private aviation companies to sponsor trainees.

He reminisced about a time when scholarships were more accessible for bright students from humble backgrounds. Abdullahi Idris Garba, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, assured support for NCAT in enhancing funding for training and technological advancements.
