NCC Urges Students to Safeguard Telecom Infrastructure

During a recent visit to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), called on Nigerian students to actively protect telecommunications infrastructure across the country.

He described these facilities as critical national assets that support educational innovation and economic growth. Dr.

Maida acknowledged the long-standing relationship between NCC and NANS and expressed confidence in the current leadership of NANS under Comrade Akintey Babatunde. He identified challenges such as vandalism and theft affecting service delivery and urged NANS to support ongoing awareness efforts to safeguard telecommunications facilities.

Dr. Maida also highlighted several initiatives aimed at advancing digital inclusion and creating opportunities for young Nigerians, including the establishment of digital parks in tertiary institutions.

He reiterated NCC's commitment to ensuring adequate consumer protection and encouraged students to utilize available educational resources.
