NCC and Enugu Launch Digital Economy Initiative

On Tuesday, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Enugu government launched technological infrastructures, including a Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre, under a strategic 15-year lease agreement. The Enugu State Government will optimize these facilities as the Enugu Talent City and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Institute, supporting the digital economy drive of Governor Peter Mbah's administration.

Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, stated that this partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at transforming Nigeria into a $1 trillion economy through innovation and private sector growth. Maida emphasized the importance of these facilities in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and human capital development, enabling young people to acquire skills and entrepreneurs to develop viable businesses.

Governor Mbah acknowledged President Tinubu's recognition of the digital economy's significance for state growth, highlighting that advancements in AI will contribute to economic development.
