Enugu State to Launch Digital Fabrication Centre with ITF

The Executive Governor of Enugu State, Mbah, has approved the allocation of land in Enugu for the establishment of a Digital Fabrication Centre by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). During a courtesy visit from the ITF delegation, Mbah described the project as timely and aligned with his administration's vision for investment and technology-driven industrial development.

He emphasized the importance of investing in human capital and emerging technologies, noting that technical education has been made compulsory in the state's basic education system. Mbah highlighted the need for equipping young people with relevant technical skills to compete globally.

The ITF Director-General, Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, stated that the Fund aims to upskill Nigerian artisans to international standards and has already established a similar centre in Ikeja, Lagos. Ogun requested land in Enugu to replicate this initiative, which is intended to promote industrialization, reduce import dependence, and prepare Nigerians for future opportunities.
