NCC Raises Hope on Service Quality, Blames Lack of Collaboration for Telecoms Vandalism

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has raised hopes for improved service quality for telecom subscribers, attributing the recent vandalism of telecom infrastructure to a lack of collaboration. Despite a 50% tariff hike earlier in the year, the NCC assured subscribers of better service quality by December.

Executive Vice Chairman Aminu Maida emphasized the need for telecom operators to invest in network expansion and upgrades to enhance service quality. The NCC has been working closely with operators to track progress on network upgrades and expansions, starting in Abuja and extending to Lagos.

Maida highlighted the importance of providing adequate security at telecom sites to prevent vandalism and ensure service reliability. The NCC has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of Works and Ministry of Communications to protect telecom infrastructure and enhance service quality nationwide.
