NCC Invites Stakeholders for National Telecom Policy Review

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has initiated a consultation process for the review of the National Telecommunications Policy (NTP) 2000, as part of its mandate under the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003. The consultation paper was published on the NCC's website, with a submission deadline set for March 20, 2026.

This review process follows the establishment of a Ministerial Steering Committee (MSC) and a Ministerial Technical Committee (MTC) led by Minister Dr. Bosun Tijani.

The review aims to align with the ministry's strategic blueprint to enhance technological efficiency and address core issues such as spectrum management, universal access, and broadband penetration. The outcome of this consultation will support the MSC in implementing a revised policy that meets the current challenges in the telecommunications sector, which has evolved significantly since the NTP 2000 was established 25 years ago.

Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, emphasized the importance of stakeholder participation in developing the new policy.
