NCC Invites Stakeholder Input for Telecom Policy Review

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has initiated a review process for the National Telecommunications Policy (NTP) 2000, seeking inputs from stakeholders. The deadline for written submissions is set for March 20, 2026.

This consultative process is part of the NCC's function under the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003, specifically Section 24(1). The review follows the establishment of a Ministerial Steering Committee (MSC) and a Ministerial Technical Committee (MTC) led by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr.

Bosun Tijani. The NCC aims to align the policy with the Minister's strategic blueprint to enhance technical efficiency and address core issues such as spectrum management, universal access, and broadband penetration.

The review process will culminate in a draft of the new NTP 2026, which will replace the existing NTP 2000, reflecting the significant advancements in the telecommunications sector over the past 25 years. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate actively to ensure the final draft accommodates diverse expert feedback.
