Tinubu and Armed Forces Restore Peace in Benue State

The North Central Youth Development and Peace Agenda commended President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Armed Forces for their collaborative efforts in restoring peace to Benue State and the North Central region. The group highlighted the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, in executing operations that have significantly reduced violence.

In a statement by Ambassador Marcus Adams Odoba, they noted military successes under Operation Whirl Stroke, including the rescue of seven kidnap victims in Ohimini Local Government Area and the neutralization of suspected kidnappers in Katsina-Ala, where arms and ammunition were recovered. The Special Intervention Battalion has maintained calm in Guma Local Government Area, allowing over 1,000 internally displaced persons to return home.

The group acknowledged additional troop deployments and improved coordination among security agencies, which have strengthened operational capacity and contributed to a decline in violent incidents across previously volatile communities.
