The Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Thursday, dismissing reports of alleged fake primary election results that were circulating. The party clarified that its primary election is scheduled to take place on May 29, 2026, making it impossible for any results or winners to emerge before the event.

The statement, signed by the party's National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, strongly urged the public to disregard the misleading rumors, particularly those suggesting that activist Aisha Yesufu had defeated candidates for the NDC ticket for the Federal Capital Territory Senate seat. The NDC emphasized its commitment to a transparent and credible primary process and called on registered members to remain vigilant against unverifiable information.

The party reaffirmed that the circulating results did not originate from any official party source.
