NDC Disowns Viral Primary Results, Calls for NEC Meeting

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially disowned various results circulating on social media from its recent nationwide primaries held on May 28 and 29, 2026. The party insists that only the National Executive Council (NEC) is authorized to announce the outcomes of the primaries.

In a statement issued in Abuja by the NDC's National Public Secretary, Osa, the party warned the public to disregard unofficial results and stressed that the official outcomes will be announced following a meeting of the NEC. This meeting is set to take place on June 3, 2026, after a pre-NEC meeting on June 2, 2026.

The NDC aims to ensure that the final list of candidates is ratified and submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The statement comes amid growing speculation regarding the outcomes of the primaries, which were conducted to select candidates for various electoral positions.
