NDC Denies Fake Primary Results Ahead of May 29 Elections

The Nigerian Democrat Congress (NDC) issued a press statement on Thursday, clarifying that the primary elections for the party are scheduled to take place on May 29, 2026. The statement, signed by Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, emphasized that any results claiming to declare winners or losers are false and illogical, as the primaries have not yet occurred.

The NDC urged the public to disregard these fake results and rumors, particularly those speculating on the defeat of popular activist Aisha Yesufu, who is contesting for a Senate seat in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the NDC ticket. The party reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and credible primary process and called on its registered members to remain vigilant against unverified information.
