NDC Disowns Primary Results, NEC Meeting Scheduled

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially disowned the results of its recent nationwide primaries held on May 28-29, 2026. The party has urged the public to disregard various unofficial results circulating on social media, asserting that only the National Executive Council (NEC) is authorized to announce the official outcomes.

The NDC's Director of Publicity, Osa, stated that a meeting has been summoned for June 3, 2026, to deliberate on the primary results and resolve any disputes that may have arisen during the exercise. The party's leader, Senator Seriak Dickson, emphasized the importance of this meeting in finalizing the list of candidates for the upcoming elections.

The NDC reassured stakeholders that the official list of candidates would be made public following the ratification process, which will be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This clarification comes amid growing speculation regarding the outcomes of the primaries, which are critical ahead of the 2027 general elections.
