NDC Disowns Unofficial Primary Election Results

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has distanced itself from various unofficial primary election results that have been circulating on social media, emphasizing that no candidates have been officially declared. The party stated that the results from the nationwide primaries conducted on May 28-29 remain with the National Executive Council (NEC), which is the only body authorized to announce outcomes.

A statement from the party's public secretary, Osa, urged members and the general public to disregard the purported results. The NEC, led by former Bayelsa State Governor Seriak Dickson, is scheduled to convene a meeting in Abuja on June 3 to consider the outcomes of the primaries and make necessary decisions regarding candidates for the 2027 elections.

The NDC reassured stakeholders that an official list of candidates will be made public after the NEC meeting and will be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
