NDC Disowns Viral Primary Results Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democrat Congress (NDC) issued a statement clarifying that it has not declared any candidates for the 2027 general elections, despite various unofficial results circulating on social media. The party emphasized that the results from the nationwide primaries conducted on May 28 and 29 remain with its National Executive Council (NEC), which is the only body authorized to announce winners.

The statement, released by Osa, the Director of Publicity, urged members and the general public to disregard the purported results. The NDC confirmed that the NEC is scheduled to meet in Abuja on June 2, 2026, to consider the outcomes of the primaries and make necessary decisions regarding the emergence of candidates.

The party assured stakeholders that an official list of candidates would be made public once the internal processes are concluded and names are transmitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
