NDC Conducts Primaries Today to Affirm Obi as Candidate

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) is holding nationwide primaries today to officially affirm Peter Obi as its presidential candidate. This decision follows a joint statement issued by the party's national chairman, Senator Mose Cleopa, and the national secretary, Barrister Ikenna Alex Morgan Enekweizu.

The primaries were rescheduled to accommodate the Eid el-Kabir celebration, which created transport and logistical difficulties. The presidential primaries will involve direct voting, and the party leadership has assigned various committees to manage the exercise.

These committees will collate the results and forward them to the national headquarters, where the final outcome will be announced. The statement also warned that no state executive committee is authorized to announce results independently.

Additionally, the NDC is expected to affirm delegates across states, with various aspirants contesting for Senate and House of Representatives seats.
