NDC Disowns 10 Anambra Candidates Listed by INEC

On Wednesday, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) asserted that it did not submit the names or Form EC9E documents of 10 candidates for the Anambra State House of Assembly, as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party, through its Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Agada Abuh Theophilus, called for an immediate electronic audit of INEC’s candidate nomination portal.

The NDC stated that the names published were not part of its nomination and appeal processes and questioned how INEC obtained the credentials of these candidates. The candidates in question include Umennaajiego Jude Ezenwa for Onitsha South 1 and others.

The NDC emphasized that it only uploaded candidates who emerged from its appeal process, alleging that INEC rejected these nominees. The party's National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, confirmed he did not upload the disputed names, and the NDC claimed that its actual nominees were not recognized by INEC.
