NDC Legal Team Reviews Court Ruling on Registration

The legal team of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is currently studying a ruling from the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which set aside a previous judgment that compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC. Idris Zekeri Jnr, a media aide to Peter Obi, stated that the party is thoroughly reviewing the judgment and will initiate immediate corrective appeal measures.

He described the ruling as a bizarre setback but emphasized that it should not deter the party's commitment to providing a transparent and legitimate alternative in Nigeria. The court's decision, delivered by Justice Isah Dashen, nullified the earlier judgment from December 10, 2025, which had recognized the NDC's ownership of its logo and registration order.

Zekeri called for supporters to remain calm and focused while the party anticipates resistance against efforts to challenge its political establishment.
