NDC Forms Reconciliation Committee Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has established a seven-member National Reconciliation Committee to engage with aggrieved aspirants and resolve disputes stemming from the party's recent primaries. This initiative aims to strengthen internal cohesion in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The committee will be chaired by political economist Prof. Pat Utomi, with Buba Galadima serving as co-chairman. The committee is expected to commence consultations with aspirants and party stakeholders immediately following its inauguration, which is scheduled for today at the NDC's national secretariat in Abuja.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the party's National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses, and National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu. Additionally, three zonal reconciliation sub-committees will be established to cover the North, South-south, and South-east geopolitical zones.

Several candidates recently acknowledged the role of the party’s National Leader and former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, in stabilizing the party during the nomination process.
