NDC Resolves Kano Leadership Crisis, Confirms Mai Riga

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) has settled the leadership crisis within its Kano State chapter by confirming Husaini Isah Mai Riga as the legitimate chairman. The dispute began when former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso joined the party, creating tension and questioning the existing leadership.

Mai Riga asserted his position as chairman, stating he would not step aside without following proper party processes. The disagreement drew attention at the national level, prompting a special meeting led by Senator Seriake Dickson, which included senior party officials from the North West zone.

The meeting concluded with the confirmation of Mai Riga as the chairman and an agreement to assign Kwankwaso a significant role within the party's state structure. Mai Riga expressed appreciation for the national leadership's intervention and apologized to anyone affected by the disagreement, emphasizing that the final decision reflected a collective agreement within the party.
