Kano NDC Chairman Rejects Kwankwaso's Control Demand

Usaini Isa Mai Riga, the Chairman of the Kano State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), stated in an exclusive interview that the party structure will not be handed over to former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Despite holding two separate meetings to discuss leadership arrangements, efforts to reach a common ground with Kwankwaso have failed.

Mai Riga expressed that the demand to surrender the party is unacceptable, stressing that the current leadership will resist any attempts to control the party. He revealed that he received instructions from the party's national leadership to suspend plans for a state congress due to Kwankwaso's entry into the party.

Mai Riga noted that while Kwankwaso had received his membership card, he had not formally engaged with the state party leadership. This statement marks Mai Riga's first public reaction to Kwankwaso's recent entry into the NDC.
