NDC Rejects Claims of Dumo Lulu-Briggs' Victory in Rivers

Supporters of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) have rejected claims that businessman Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs has emerged victorious in the Rivers State governorship primary election. They stated that the primary process is still ongoing and that no official results have been released by either the NDC or the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A statement issued on Saturday described the reports of Lulu-Briggs' victory as false and misleading, asserting that the announcement of a winner at this stage is premature and not backed by any official declaration from the party or INEC. The group criticized the current stage of the primary election process, including the verification and collation of results.

They reaffirmed that Bless Fubara remains a valid contestant in the race and called for respect for the electoral process. The NDC urged media organizations and social media users to verify information before dissemination to avoid confusion among party members and the public, emphasizing the need for a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
