NDDC Enhances Emergency Response with New Fire Truck

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has taken a significant step to boost emergency response by acquiring a new fire truck, which was officially handed over during a ceremony at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Dr.

Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of NDDC, represented the agency at the event, highlighting the organization's commitment to improving safety standards within the communities it serves. Kelechi Nwelu, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, noted that safety is a collective responsibility that requires adequate equipment and proactive planning.

The acquisition of the fire truck aims to ensure a swift response to fire outbreaks in the surrounding areas of Rivers State. Dr.

Ogbuku reiterated the NDDC's focus on strengthening health and safety environments, while Mr. Chinyer Umeh, the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment, commended the management for prioritizing staff safety and investing in modern emergency equipment.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce hazards and enhance operational safety across the Niger Delta region.
