Diri Urges Team Bayelsa to Defend NDDC Games Title

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa has charged Team Bayelsa to defend their title at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Games, which are being held in Benin, Edo. During a speech on Thursday in Yenagoa, Diri emphasized his administration's commitment to sports development and the strategic positioning of Bayelsa to host major sporting competitions in the future.

He highlighted ongoing investments in sports infrastructure, including a 30,000-capacity stadium project. Diri urged the team and officials to maintain discipline and focus as they compete to defend their championship title.

The Bayelsa team, consisting of 270 athletes, is expected to participate in 16 events at the NDDC Games, which marks the first edition of the newly established agency in Nigeria.
