NDDC Trains 500 Niger Delta Youths in CNG Conversion

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) successfully trained 500 youths from nine states in the Niger Delta region on compressed natural gas (CNG) autogas conversion over a six-week program. The graduation ceremony took place at the Dakkada Skill Acquisition Centre in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where NDDC Managing Director Dr.

Samuel Ogbuku emphasized the importance of CNG as a cleaner, safer, and cost-effective alternative to conventional fuels. The initiative aims to address youth unemployment and enhance access to skill training amidst economic uncertainties.

Ogbuku noted that the NDDC is committed to transforming challenges into opportunities, with a vision to make the Niger Delta a hub for CNG technicians in Nigeria. The program included practical training on CNG vehicle conversion systems and safety standards.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to transform the Niger Delta region and stimulate economic growth through job creation and increased demand for autogas specialists.
