NDLEA Arrests Two Elderly Men for Drug Trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested two octogenarians for drug trafficking in Nigeria. Pa John Ofiel, 83, was apprehended on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, during a raid at Samek Powerline in Aba, Abia State, where he was found in possession of 700 grams of skunk strain cannabis.

Ofiel, a former shoemaker, was linked to the illicit drug trade. Ogunjobi Samuel, 78, was arrested on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his residence on Owod Street, Ilupeju, Ekiti State, with 350 grams of a psychoactive substance.

The NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the arrests, highlighting the agency's ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking across Nigeria.
