According to Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, these arrests were part of a broader intelligence-led operation targeting drug syndicates and couriers involved in the illicit drug trade.

The investigation uncovered the doctor's significant behind-the-scenes role in a trafficking network controlling substances such as promazepam and promethazine.
