NDLEA Arrests Elderly Drug Traffickers in Nigeria

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two elderly suspects involved in drug trafficking during operations in Abia and Ekiti states. On Tuesday, April 28, an 80-year-old shoemaker was apprehended in Aba, Abia, with 700 grams of skunk cannabis.

Following this, on Thursday, April 30, a 78-year-old suspect was arrested in Ilupeju, Ekiti, with 350 grams of a psychoactive substance. Additionally, two women were arrested in Oyo State on Wednesday, April 29, with 1,925 kg of synthetic cannabis known as Colorado.

The NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, confirmed these arrests as part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking across Nigeria. The agency continues its efforts against drug abuse through various community sensitization programs and educational initiatives in schools and workplaces.
