Edo State Ready to Host Niger Delta Games at Stadium

On Friday, Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, led a high-level inspection tour of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, declaring the state ready to successfully host the forthcoming Niger Delta Games. Accompanied by Desmond Amadin, Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, and Sabina Chiker, Executive Director of the National Institute for Sports, the team conducted a comprehensive assessment of various facilities, including the athletic track, playing turf, tennis courts, and spectator stands.

Shaibu expressed satisfaction with the stadium, noting its status as one of the finest sports arenas in the country. The inspection team interacted with officials to evaluate critical areas for a smooth hosting of the games.

Shaibu emphasized the need for sports infrastructure to meet international standards, while Enabulele reaffirmed the state government's commitment to ensuring a seamless event. The stadium's expansive seating capacity and modern facilities were highlighted as key assets for attracting top-tier athletes from the Niger Delta region.
