NDIC to Host 2026 IADI-Africa Meeting in Abuja

The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) is set to host the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) Africa regional committee annual meeting and workshop from July 20 to 23, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria. The theme for the event is "Safeguarding Stability: Public Awareness and Crisis Readiness for a Stronger Future." This four-day high-level engagement will bring together chief executives, directors, and senior officials from deposit insurance institutions and financial regulatory stakeholders across Africa.

The discussions will focus on strategies to strengthen public awareness and crisis preparedness in deposit insurance systems, aligning with IADI's core principles. The program will include technical committee meetings, plenary sessions, and interactive roundtable discussions addressing emerging risks, including financial technology innovations and cyber threats.

The event will be officially opened by Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and will feature keynote addresses from dignitaries including Eva H. Pke, IADI Secretary General, and Julia Oyet, Chairperson of the IADI Africa regional committee.
