NDLEA Arrests Pastor and Wife for Drug Trafficking

On April 2, 2023, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended Pastor Afolabi Hodonu, 45, and his wife Success Hodonu, 35, at the Gbaji checkpoint along the Seme border while traveling in a Honda Pilot SUV. The arrest was made after a search of their vehicle revealed illicit substances hidden in a specially constructed compartment.

Femi Babafemi, the agency's spokesperson, disclosed that the couple was arrested following intelligence gathered about another suspect, Sundai Samuel, 35, who was previously arrested on March 30 at the same checkpoint for allegedly transporting 24.5 kg of skunk across the Seme border into Lagos. The NDLEA continues to investigate the case and the connections between the suspects.
