NDLEA Arrests Three PWDs for Drug Trafficking in Nigeria

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested three persons with disabilities for drug trafficking during separate operations in Anambra and Kwara states. On May 6, 2023, 60-year-old Romanu Nwabara was apprehended in Akpaka Forest, Onitsha, with 250 grams of skunk.

Following this, on May 7, 25-year-old Amo Kenneth was arrested in Ogbunik, Anambra, with 160.3 grams of tramadol and other drugs. In a separate operation on May 8, Usman Salisu, another person with a disability, was found with 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a brown school bag in Kwara.

Additionally, the NDLEA's special operations unit raided a mansion in Lekki, Lagos, uncovering 4,000 parcels of potent cannabis weighing 2,326 kilograms, valued at N5.8 billion. The agency also reported other arrests and seizures in Kogi and Nasarawa states, with a total of 766 kilograms of skunk recovered.

NDLEA Chairman Mohammed Buba Marwa commended the efforts of the agency's operatives.
