NDLEA Arrests Widow Using Fake Pregnancy To Traffic Cocaine In Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested widow and fashion designer, Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, for attempting to traffic cocaine using a fake pregnancy disguise at a bus terminal in Lagos.

Ezewuike, a mother of one, claimed to have inherited the criminal trade from her deceased husband. In a separate operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of cannabis imported from the United States and arrested a notorious drug dealer, Idris Garba, in Adamawa state.

Additionally, several other drug suspects were apprehended in various states across Nigeria, with significant quantities of opioids, tramadol, and cannabis seized. The NDLEA also conducted operations to destroy illicit substances in farmlands and plantations in Edo, Delta, and Ondo states.

The agency's efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking through sensitization activities in schools, worship centers, and communities were highlighted.
