NDLEA Busts International Drug Syndicate, Seizes N5.3 Billion Cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) dismantled an international drug syndicate operating across Nigeria, the UK, Brazil, Australia, and the UAE, seizing a consignment of cocaine worth N5.3 billion. Three key leaders of the syndicate were arrested in Lagos after the interception of 76 cartons of textile materials containing 16 large blocks of cocaine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The operation also uncovered the use of local charms to conceal the drugs. Among the arrested individuals were freight agent Olashupo Michael Oladimeji and cartel leaders Muaezee Ademola Ogunbiyi and Shola Adegoke Ogunbiyi.

The crackdown, which began on August 26, 2025, highlights the NDLEA's efforts to combat drug trafficking.
