NDLEA Seizes 2,145kg Cannabis from Fuel Tanker in Ondo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted significant operations resulting in the seizure of 2,145kg of cannabis from a fuel tanker in Ondo State. The tanker, marked MKA 960 XC, was abandoned by its driver after refusing to stop when flagged down.

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested 34-year-old Dunu Bethel Ebubechukwu, who allegedly masterminded a cocaine shipment intercepted on July 31, concealed in phone chargers and destined for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ebubechukwu, previously convicted for drug trafficking in 2011, was apprehended on September 4 while posing as a herbal tea businessman.

A search of his residence revealed phone chargers similar to those used for concealing drugs. The NDLEA also seized large quantities of various drugs, including 966,200 tablets of Tramadol and 57.8kg of Loud cannabis, during operations across multiple states, as part of its intensified War Against Drug Abuse (WADA).
