NDLEA Recognized at UK Maritime Security Conference

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), led by Chairman Mohammed Buba Marwa, received global recognition during its participation in a high-level maritime security conference held in Southampton, United Kingdom, from March 4 to 12, 2026. Marwa commended the agency's growing international relevance in counter-narcotics operations, particularly through its involvement in the Maritime Intelligence Office and the North Sea Channel Maritime Information Group.

The conference, which included representatives from various African countries, underscored the NDLEA's professional operational capacity and strategic importance in global anti-drug efforts. Marwa noted that the agency's participation marked a significant milestone in strengthening international collaboration against transnational organized crime.

He highlighted the exposure to advanced interdiction techniques and real-time intelligence sharing frameworks that would enhance the NDLEA's capabilities in dismantling drug trafficking networks across Nigeria's waterways. The NDLEA expressed gratitude to UK authorities, especially the Home Office, for their support in operational cooperation and intelligence sharing.
