NDLEA Honors NGO for Grassroots Anti-Drug Campaigns

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) honored a grassroots non-governmental organization (NGO) for its sustained anti-drug campaigns aimed at combating substance abuse, particularly among youth in local communities. The recognition took place in Abuja on Wednesday, where NDLEA Chairman Mohammed Buba Marwa presented a certificate to the NGO during a ceremony.

The agency's statement highlighted the NGO's commitment to grassroots mobilization and its effective sensitization campaigns against drug abuse and harmful substances. The NDLEA also noted that the NGO had met the conditions outlined for collaboration, which included an assessment of its operations.

Fatimah Moham Goni, the founder and chairperson of the NGO, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating it would motivate the organization to intensify its humanitarian activities to support vulnerable members of society. The NDLEA had previously deployed an inspection team to assess the NGO's operations following its request for collaboration.
