NDLEA Intercepts Major Colorado Shipments from UK

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted two shipments of synthetic cannabis, known as Colorado, from the United Kingdom. The agency's spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, reported that operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos seized 27 parcels weighing 32.20kg.

Abideen Jide Salami, a real estate agent, was arrested on September 9, 2026, while attempting to collect the consignment using a secret code sent by his brother in the UK. A follow-up operation led to the arrest of Nurudeen Abiodun Kadiri, 44, who was found with 12.25kg of Colorado.

Additional seizures included Colorado hidden in music speakers at motor parks in Lagos, with arrests made of Ifeanyi Obed Augustine and Obasi Ugochukwu. In separate operations, NDLEA operatives seized various drugs in Delta and Kano states, including 785,000 capsules of pregabalin and 157,100 capsules of tramadol.

The agency also destroyed 4,832.56kg of skunk on cannabis farms in Edo State, arresting Sunday Segun during the operation.
