NDLEA Dismantles Cannabis Farms, Arrests 10 Traffickers

The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) destroyed two cannabis farms, seizing a total of 4,628.9 kg of cannabis and arresting 10 suspected drug traffickers. This operation was disclosed on Monday by the state Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, who stated that the actions were based on credible intelligence.
The first farm, located at Ugboku in Igbanke Forest, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, measured 0.699792 hectares with an estimated yield of 1,749.26 kg, leading to the arrest of Agholor Elebojie, a 40-year-old male. The second farm, measuring 1.151889 hectares, yielded 2,879.7225 kg of cannabis.
Additionally, two bags of processed cannabis sativa weighing 12.4 kg were recovered. In a separate operation, officers raided drug hotspots in Oluku and Abuja Quarters, resulting in the arrest of 10 males with various quantities of illicit substances.
All suspects are in custody, and investigations are ongoing in preparation for prosecution.
