NDLEA Seizes Military-Grade Ammo, Arrests Couple in Kaduna

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted military-grade ammunition in Kaduna on May 24, 2026, arresting 30-year-old Sunusi Musa, who was allegedly transporting the ammunition from Katsina State. The operation, conducted along the Abuja-Kaduna highway, resulted in the recovery of 380 rounds of 7.62mm military-grade bullets.

NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the seizure and stated that the agency is committed to curbing the proliferation of illegal arms across the country. Alongside Musa, Salomi Ezekiel was also arrested during the operation, which coincided with the seizure of 100 jumbo bags of skunk weighing 1,246 kilograms in Gonin Gora, Kaduna State.

In a separate operation, the NDLEA uncovered illicit drugs concealed in a water purification machine shipped from the Netherlands, including three kilograms of ketamine and 199 grams of MDMA. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Moham Buba Marwa, commended the officers involved and urged them to maintain momentum in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse.
