NDLEA Arrests 132 in Major Drug Bust in Abuja

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) executed a significant operation from April 11 to 25, 2026, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), resulting in the arrest of 132 suspects and the seizure of 220 kilograms of various illicit substances. The operation, coordinated by the agency's Director of Operations and General Investigations, Ahm Sule Ningi, aimed at dismantling multiple drug hubs identified through intelligence gathering and surveillance.

Key locations targeted included Torabora Hill, Gwarinpa, Durumi, and several others known for drug trafficking activities. The substances recovered included 214.79 kg of skunk, 5.524 kg of diazepam, and smaller quantities of other drugs like tramadol and cocaine.

The NDLEA faced stiff resistance during the operation, particularly in the Durumi area, but successfully subdued the suspects without casualties. NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Moham Buba Marwa, commended the personnel involved for their resilience and emphasized the importance of sustaining momentum in the fight against drug cartels.
